GOOD NEWS

By John Stenen Whenever I read the obituaries in the newspapers, my thought is always, “I sure hope they were born-again Christians.” To die physically without Christ will be the most horrible future you can imagine; to step into eternity and be spiritually dead with no possibility of ever getting another chance to repent, will be worse than the worst things you could ever imagine. You will not simply vanish when you die, and cease to exist, as many believe, -for once we are born into this life, we will never cease to exist. Also, there is no place where you will go to be further purified and then go into heaven. It is here in this life, if you are a Christian, that we are purified and totally washed clean by the blood of Christ; read what the apostle Peter said in Acts 15:79. When we, by faith, receive Christ and commit our lives to Him, our sins are totally forgiven. The question is, “Where will I spend eternity?” The Bible tells us there are only two places, heaven or hell, (the lake of fire)”: Revelations 20:15. Many spend their lives chasing the almighty dollar, but I never read on their obituary how much money they earned, what is written, is what kind of person they were, and how much good they did for humanity. “Only one life, twill soon be past, only what’s done for Christ will last.” God bless.

MURRAY COUNTY 4-H SET TO HOST ‘DISCOVERY DAY’

The Murray County 4-H program will host an event open to the public called “Discovery Day – come and learn all 4-H has to offer!” This event will be held on Sunday, April 6, 2025, at the Murray County 4-H Building from 12 – 3 p.m. This event is FREE to attend and open to all ages! We want to show the community what 4-H all has to offer and how youth and adults can become involved! “Community members are shocked when they hear about all the opportunities that 4-H has to offer big and small! It goes beyond the county fair, there are countless leadership opportunities and project areas people can be involved in,” said Kim Hause, Extension Youth Development Educator.
