THINK ABOUT THIS:

SPRING CLEANING AND THE MUSEUM As you do your spring cleaning this year you may come across some items that make you think “Hey, this is pretty old and cool, I bet the Murray County Historical Society would love to have this!” You would not be alone in thinking that. Each spring we see an uptick in people wanting to donate their family heirlooms or items they find while spring cleaning to the museum.

MICROFILM GRANT UPDATE

On March 31st, the Murray County Historical Society was notified that we were awarded a $3,044 grant funded by an appropriation to the Minnesota Historical Society from the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund. The grant money will go towards increasing our newspaper microfilm collection by allowing us to purchase 35 reels of microfilm. Newspapers to be purchased are the Murray County Wheel Herald 1998-2006, the Murray County News 1995-2007, and the Fulda Free Press 1995-2007. This will allow us to better serve researchers who have requests for information from the 1990s, which was 30 years ago at this point.

What If?

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5-6 NIV What if it all works out? What if everything is destined to work out for the best? We often fret over minor inconveniences that, in the long run, make no difference or even work out for the best. Instead of complaining about the many things that don’t work perfectly or don’t fall into your plans, why not consider that there may be a larger plan at work here, and even if you don’t immediately see what that plan is, it’s usually best to go with the flow and try to make your plans fit in with the new developments, whatever they may be.
