MURRAY COUNTY EDA LAUNCHES FORGIVABLE LOAN FOR NEW AND EXPANDED DAYCARE

SLAYTON – Childcare shortages are a concern across the nation, something the Murray County Economic Development Authority considers an economic issue for all employers and employees. The MC EDA has a new fund dedicated toward helping new providers become licensed and assisting with expansion for current family childcare providers who are not at capacity.

WARRIOR WRESTLERS COMPETE IN BUSY START TO YEAR

The Fulda Murray County Central Warriors are back at it again with a busy week of wrestling with travel to Minneota for a Triangular against Minneota where the Warriors took on the Minneota Vikings and the Redwood Valley Cardinals.

REBEL BOYS LOSE TO PIPESTONE

Coming out of the Christmas break MCC would travel to Pipestone to take on three solid Pipestone teams. The Varsity, B, and C team would all be in action and playing good competition regardless of outcome is what it’s all about. Understanding that there is a next level to strive for as a player and team creates growth.

REBELS FALL TO WWG IN OVERTIME

The B and Varsity teams played in Westbrook and both games came down to the wire as back and forth play created some exciting moments Friday night. The B-squad had a bit of a sloppy night as both teams played tough defense and made each other work in the half court to find buckets.

REBELS STRUGGLE AGAINST FLYING DUTCHMEN

The MCC Rebel Girls Wrapped up a busy week on the road in Edgerton on Thursday. The Rebels took a rough loss in Windom on Monday but rebounded with a better performance against the Pipestone Arrows on Tuesday. MCC was facing a tough Edgerton team with great size upfront. For the first time all week, the Rebels had their entire roster ready to play but with illness and injurycausing players to miss much of the week, the Rebels hadn’t been able to practice as they would like. The Rebels would take their third loss of the week as the Rebels struggled to stop the size of Edgerton.

REBEL GIRLS HAVE TOUGH GAME ON THE ROAD AGAINST WOLVERINES

The MCC Rebel Girls were on the road on Monday night taking on the Wolverines of Mountain Lake Area Comfrey. The Rebels played the Wolverines back in December and came up short losing in Slayton by ten points. The Rebels are back healthy once again but the Rebels played one of if not their worst game of the season Monday night. The Rebels didn’t pass the ball well, they didn’t shoot it well, and they had no chance to win the game.
