Slayton City Council met on Monday, March 7th. The agenda, meeting minutes and claims were approved.

Pipestone County Medical Center and Family Clinic Avera (PCMC) is excited to welcome a new orthopedic provider to its medical staff. April Labat, CNP, began at PCMC on February 28, 2022, after spending the last three years with Sanford Orthopedics as a nurse practitioner working in an orthopedic clinic. Labat has 12 years of nursing experience, and with her arrival, PCMC’s orthopedic services will be significantly enhanced to provide onsite orthopedic coverage Monday-Friday.

Shetek Lutheran Ministries (SLM) recently received a $4,760 No Child Left Inside Grant through the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources. Through their environmental education program, Shetek Environmental Learning Center (SELC), SLM will be able to develop and provide new winter outdoor environmental and ecological programs, providing at-risk youth with the opportunity to explore the outdoors. SLM Director of Environmental Education Katie Chapman elaborates:

Night of Jazz Fundraiser The Night of Jazz will be held at Christ Lutheran on Thursday, March 24th. The evening dinner concert will start at 6:30 pm.

SLAYTON - Nutrition Assistance Program for Seniors (NAPS) in the Slayton area, sponsored by Second Harvest Heartland distribution will be held at the office of A.C.E. of Southwest Minnesota – Murray County at 2989 Maple Rd., Slayton MN. Distribution will take place on Thursday, March 10th, from 1:30 – 2:30 pm. Remember if you cannot be there, please have your proxy pick your items up for you.
