GIRLS PLAY LAST REGULAR SEASON GAME

The MCC Rebels finished their non-conference schedule on Thursday night (February 8) when they played host to the Windom Area Eagles. The Eagles have had a strong season, winning 18 games, playing in the Big South Conference.

GIRLS BATTLE AGAINST TOUGH WWG TEAM

The Rebel Girls week came to an end on Friday night (Februar 9) in Westbrook. MCC finished the season with four straight road games and 3 of the 4 games are against the top teams in the Red Rock Conference. The first of those games came against the Chargers who have one of the most experienced teams in the area and one of the best shooting teams when things are right. The Chargers were right on Friday.

REBELS FALL TO SWC IN EDGERTON

The MCC Rebel Girls opened their toughest week of the season on Monday night. The Rebels play two games on the road in Edgerton this week. The Rebels took on SWC Monday night (February 12) and on Thursday (February 15) they will play at Edgerton Public. The Rebels have just three games left in the regular season looking for their ninth win of the year. That win wouldn’t come on Monday against the top team in the Red Rock Conference.

By John Stenen An elderly gentleman was walking down the street with his young grandson when they were approached by a man who was down and out asking for enough money to buy a sandwich and a cup of coffee. Grandpa gave the man a five dollar bill which was greatly appreciated.

STRATEGIC FARMING: LET’S TALK CROPS! SESSION TALKS ABOUT MAKING HERBICIDES WORK BETTER

On February 7, Dr. Tommy Butts, Extension Weed Scientist with the University of Arkansas, and Tom Hoverstad, Researcher at the University of Minnesota Southern Research and Outreach Center in Waseca, joined UMN Extension Educator- Crops Ryan Miller for a discussion on “Making herbicides work better”. Specifically, this session focused on making choices and adjustments to ensure a successful herbicide application.
