The Chandler American Legion Auxiliary met on Tuesday, June 17 at 1:30 pm with Patsy Buys presiding. The meeting opened in usual form with an opening prayer. The Auxiliary sang the National Anthem and recited the “Pledge of Allegiance,” held a moment of silence in memory of the deceased, and read the Preamble to the Constitution of the American Legion Auxiliary. The meeting continued with the Secretary and Treasurer reports. Faye read a “Thank You” from Samaritan’s Purse for the donation we had sent to them. The Auxiliary decided to leave the yearly dues the same amount as it has been in the last few years. Patsy gave a report on all the small flags that are put on the two cemeteries each year. Many are not reusable. The Auxiliary voted to order 4 dozen new flags. There would not be a meeting in July. Instead, the Auxiliary planned to play Bingo at the Luverne Veteran’s Home. County Installation was planned by the Auxiliary in Lake Wilson. It was to be held on August 4 at 6:30 pm at the Legion Hall in Lake Wilson. Several members planned to attend. Before the meeting adjourned, the Auxiliary voted to send $100 to the Ronald McDonald House. The next Auxiliary meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 16 at 1:30 pm at the Chandler Community Center. Dues are to be paid at this time. Mary Mesner is the hostess. The meeting closed with the closing prayer and the Auxiliary sang “America.” Mary VanEck was hostess.
