REBELS ADVANCING TO STATE

After a section day one postponement, the Rebels finally got to play last week. Day one took place on Wednesday and day two on Friday. On the boys side, 11 teams as well as a large group of individuals participated in day one. For the girls, only 5 teams participated with again a large group of individual girls. In the 3A meet the top four teams and top twenty-five percent of remaining individuals qualify for the second and final day of the tournament. Both of MCC’s squads had a goal in mind, advancing as a team to day two. The girls were able to advance on as a team, but the boys team came up short. MCC’s McKade Gillette advanced to the second day of competition for the boys.

GIRLS TRACK QUALIFIES FOR STATE IN FOUR EVENTS

The members of the Rebel track teams traveled to Pipestone for the 3A Section Track meet. Schools competing in this section meet included: EAST SUBSECTION: BOLD/ BLHS, Canby/Minneota, Central Minnesota Christian/ Comm.

REBELS TRACK TEAM COMPETES AT SUB SECTIONS

The boys and girls track teams traveled to Luverne for the 3A Southwest Subsection Track meet. Schools competing in this subsection included: Adrian /Ellsworth, HBC, Luverne, MCC, Pipestone, RTR, SWC/Edgerton, and TMB. The top four finishers in each event would automatically qualify for the section meet. Each event also has four “wildcard” spots that are awarded to the next four best performances out of the three subsections that make up the 3A section. By the end of the night, some athletes’ seasons would continue on while others would see theirs come to end.

MCC BASEBALL WINS RED ROCK CONFERENCE TITLE

On Thursday, May 19, the Dragons of Adrian/Ellsworth traveled to Slayton in a battle for the Red Rock Conference Title. A/E got on the board in the first inning for an early 1-0 lead.

MCC TRACK TEAM COMPETES IN CONFERENCE MEET

The 2022 Red Rock Conference Track meet was held in Mountain Lake on Thursday, May 19th. While the conference consists of nine schools, seven teams make up the conference in track, as a few of the schools (SWC/Edgerton and WWG/RRC) combine together for this spring sport.

MCC TAKES 2ND PLACE IN RED ROCK CONFERENCE

The MCC Rebel softball regular season came to an end on Thursday afternoon as the Rebels traveled to Ellsworth to take on the Adrian Ellsworth Dragons. The Rebels were looking to finish on a strong note heading to the playoffs. The Rebels wanted the win to beat a rival but also to secure the second-place finish in the Red Rock Conference. With Section seeding being decided on Saturday every win was important.

REBEL SOFTBALL ENDS SEASON AGAINST TMB

The MCC Rebels were in Edgerton on Tuesday to take on the Tracy Milroy Balaton Panthers to begin the Section 3A tournament. The Panthers beat the Rebels two weeks ago which helped them secure the 4th seed in the playoffs with the Rebels taking the 5th seed. The first game was a two-run contest that went back and forth so most expected the second matchup to be similar and it was a close game.

MCC @ RED ROCK CONFERENCE INVITE #33 (5/10/22)

The Rebels had a perfect day for golf on Tuesday for their third conference meet. The girls traveled to Mountain Lake, while the boys headed to Adrian. The round started off fairly windy, but died down midway through the meet. The squads needed to play solid in order to finish in a good spot before the final conference meet.
