MURRAY COUNTY 4-H ANNUAL AWARDS BANQUET

Murray County 4-H is excited to host its annual awards night—just on a new date! The Murray County 4-H Annual Awards Banquet will be held on Sunday, January 11 from 6 – 8 p.m. in the Murray County 4-H Building, 3048 Broadway Ave., Slayton, MN 56172.

REBEL BOYS WIN OVER MINNEOTA VIKINGS

The MCC Rebel Boys Basketball team was in Marshall at the RA Facility on the campus of Southwest MInnesota State University to take on the Minneota Vikings. These two teams have matched up in Marshall the past several years with a wide variety of results. Most games have been competitive, but like many holiday events, the level of play has wavered from time to time. Saturday was a physical match-up that was played well overall and a lot of fun for the fans, as the Rebels picked up their fourth win of the season.

Murray County residents now have a new way to stream movies and TV shows—free and without ads—through their local public libraries. Fulda Memorial Library and Slayton Public Library now offer access to Kanopy, a streaming service featuring more than 30,000 films and television programs.

MURRAY COUNTY RECEIVES OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE AWARD FOR RISK MANAGEMENT

At the Association of Minnesota Counties (AMC) Conference last month, Murray County was the recipient of the 2025 Outstanding Performance Award in the Property/Casualty Division. The award is voted on by Minnesota Counties Intergovernmental Trust (MCIT) Board of Directors on criteria that includes performance in risk management and loss control efforts, responsiveness to MCIT program initiatives and improvements in property/casualty claims and administration over the coverage years of 2021-2024.
