As the school year is coming to a close, we wanted to reflect on our time spent with youth who were a part of our After School Adventure Series in the Fulda and MCC Schools!
Youth in grades K – 6 in the MCC and Fulda school districts were invited to take part in our monthly Murray County 4-H After School Adventure series! Once a month, our youth development educators, Kim Hause and Kerstin Thoms, organized programming for the youth that enrolled in these sessions. The theme of the sessions completed throughout the year are listed below: October – “Can You Walk the Talk?”
November – “Hearty Fall Foods” December – “The Calm Before the Holiday Crazy” January – “Sharing the Best You” February – “The Biggest Heart” March – “Worldly Impacts” April – “Returning the Favor” Each session was designed around the 4-H motto of Head, Heart, Hands and Health. Youth engaged in hands on learning activities, reflection and a healthy snack. Fulda had fifteen participants per session along with adult volunteers. MCC had thirty-nine youth per session participate accompanied by four adult volunteers.
“Each year we are amazed by the enthusiasm the youth have to participate and learn during these activities. We are thankful for the schools and their willingness to accommodate when needed and their support for our program.” Says Murray County youth development educator, Kim Hause.
