MURRAY COUNTY COMMISSIONERS: COUNTY LEADERSHIP ROLE STILL UNDECIDED

Murray County Commissioners on Tuesday once again brought up the subject of a county administrator position versus a coordinator, but this time in a work session where no official action could be taken. The subject was discussed several months ago and again just weeks ago, with Commissioners Dennis Welgraven and Jackie Meier pushing for an administrator, while Commissioners Roger Zins and Mark Carlson want a coordinator. Commissioner Loy Woelber says the title isn’t as important but believes a coordinator is a better fit.

GOLFERS PUSH THROUGH TOUGH CONDITIONS IN TYLER

The Murray County Central Rebels competed in their third of four varsity conference golf meets on Thursday, with both teams traveling to Tyler Golf Club. Once again, golfers battled windy and cold conditions, forcing players to stay aggressive and minimize mistakes as they worked to secure strong positions heading into the final conference meet.

April 30 MCC at HLO/F The Murray County Central Rebel Softball team was on the road last Thursday night. The Rebels were looking to end a losing streak and get back in the win column after a week of losses.

The Rebels competed in their second of four varsity conference golf meets on Thursday, with the girls traveling to Sanborn and the boys hosting in Slayton. While course conditions were favorable, players battled less-than-ideal weather throughout the round.

REBEL BOYS SECURE TWO MORE WINS, REMAIN UNDEFEATED

April 30 HLO/F at MCC The MCC baseball team was 9-0 on the season playing the Heron Lake Okabena Fulda Coyotes this last Thursday afternoon in Slayton. The Rebels knocked off the Coyotes earlier this season and were looking to remain undefeated on the year.

REBELS CAPTURE SECTION 3A TRUE TEAM TITLE, BOYS ADVANCE TO STATE

Depth, versatility, and total team effort defined the day as the Murray County Central boys track and field team captured the Section 3A True Team championship in Pipestone, scoring 614.5 points to pull away from a competitive field.
