Another week has passed. As we mentioned last week our garden produce is producing.

The quiet crunch beneath my feet was familiar as I made my way down the gravel road. It’s been more than three decades now, and funny thing is I never tire of it. Perhaps it’s recognizing my surroundings that brings comfort.

The USDA Farm Service Agency (FSA) reminds producers that FSA offers targeted farm ownership and farm operating loans to assist underserved applicants and beginning farmers and ranchers. USDA defines underserved applicants as a group whose members have been subjected to racial, ethnic, or gender prejudice because of their identity as members of the group without regard to their individual qualities.

Livestock and poultry producers who suffered losses during the pandemic due to insufficient access to processing can apply for assistance for those losses and the cost of depopulation and disposal of the animals. The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Secretary Vilsack announced the Pandemic Livestock Indemnity Program (PLIP) in [recorded] remarks at the National Pork Industry Conference in Wisconsin Dells, WI. Medicare does not cover everything. People on Original Medicare will get a written notice from their medical provider before they receive a service or equipment to let them know if it will be covered by Medicare. This notice is called an Advance Beneficiary Notice of Noncoverage or ABN.
