The MCC Rebels played their final home game of the regular season on Friday night. It was senior night and parents night for the Rebels, who hope with a couple more wins, to play a home game in the playoffs but with two road games to complete the regular season.

Time is continuing. The days are getting shorter and the weather cooler.

I’m amazed at the number of people I have talked with over the past several decades who have told me, “You cannot know if you are saved and will go to heaven until you die.” I believe the only reason they say that, is because they believe they will make it if their good works outweigh the bad. That is a false belief, and if they truly believe that, they will never make it into heaven. The apostle John writes in 1 John 5:13, “These things I have written unto you who believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.” What is eternal life? Jesus explains it in John 17:3, “And this is life eternal, that they might know Thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom Thou has sent.” Remember the jailer in Acts 16: asked Paul and Silas, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” Paul told him, “Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved…” We are saved by grace through faith alone; not by works - you can never earn your salvation, it’s a gift from God to all who will repent and believe in Christ. Fulda School Board heard a presentation on Monday evening from two Fulda Elementary School fifth graders, who were representing their class. They were requesting permission to organize a time capsule to be placed within the new school structure. Presenters were Evie Cowdin and Alaina Jans. Attending in support of the fifth grade was Kelly Johnson, who the board directed several questions to about the time capsule. Johnson replied that there will be more information regarding the plan in the near future. The board approved the time capsule for placement within the new construction.

The Murray County Central School Board met Monday, Oct. 12, 2026, to review staffing changes, student activities, academic performance data and district goals for the 202627 school year.

The Chandler American Legion and Auxiliary met on Tuesday, September 15th, for a short meeting before going to the park to properly burn several flags. President Patsy Buys opened the meeting in usual form.

Court Queen of Peace met at DIvine Mercy Hall on Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2026 at 5:30 with 24 members and one guest present. After a salad supper Regent Jill McCord called the meeting to order followed by prayer and flag pledge. No secretary’s report was given in the absence of Secretary Pam Marshall. Treasurer Betty Palmer gave her report. A motion was made by Joyce Risacher and seconded to remove previous members from the signature card at MNWest Bank and new ones put onto the signature card. In absence of Jeaneen Nelson Financial Secretary, Jill reported no additional information.
