COMMUNITY BAND CONCERT JULY 9TH

Come on out for the very last Slayton Area Community Band performance for this 2026 summer! The Slayton American Legion Riders 64 will be serving walking tacos from 5-7 PM for $10. Money raised will be used for local programs, veterans, and the 911 Memorial coming August 11th.

FULDA MAN AWARDED QUILT OF VALOR

On June 3, 2026, US Army Vietnam War Veteran, Theodore “Ted” Olson, was presented with a Quilt of Valor. The quilt was given in honor, appreciation and thanks for his service; and to bring comfort, peace and healing. Kerry Cassens of the Patriotic Piecers QOV group of Pipestone, presented his quilt.

The Slayton Area Chamber of Commerce is inviting businesses, organizations, families, and individuals to become part of a historic community celebration by sponsoring patriotic banners that will be displayed throughout Slayton in honor of America’s 250th Birthday in 2026.
