NAPS (SECOND HARVEST)

Nutrition Assistance Program for Seniors (NAPS) in the Murray County area, sponsored by Second Harvest Heartland distribution will be held at the office of A.C.E. of Southwest Minnesota – Murray County at 2989 Maple Rd., Slayton MN. Distribution will take place on Thursday, February 10th, from 1:30 – 2:30 pm. Remember if you cannot be there, please have your proxy pick your items up for you. As the snow comes down on this e-learning day, it’s hard to believe that spring is right around the corner. It’s that time of year when we begin full preparation for next fall. In schools all around Minnesota, districts are preparing students for course registration with class meetings, a review of course requirements, and discussions about credits for graduation. Students at MCC will start the registration process during the week of January 31st.

MCMC SHOWS POSITIVE INCREASES IN 2021

The Murray County Medical Center Board met on January 26 with Molly Malone presiding at the meeting. Due to the absence of some board members the election of new officers for 2022 was postponed for another month.

SHETEK LUTHERAN MINISTRIES RECEIVES $5,000 CLEAN ENERGY RESOURCE TEAMS SEED GRANT FOR ENERGY EFFICIENT UPDATES AND CLEAN ENERGY EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS!

Slayton, MN — Shetek Lutheran Ministries (SLM) will develop and provide clean energy educational courses, utilizing LED lighting as an example, to both course participants and their camp guests. Thousands of camp visitors receive environmental education annually, through interpretive public programming, educational signage, private and public events, and school field trips. This will create opportunities for connection and engagement, and help to advance awareness of regional clean energy initiatives. In addition, by posting accurate information regarding energy and cost savings pertaining to Shetek Lutheran Ministries’ LED lighting, other groups and organizations will be inspired and investigate clean energy opportunities for themselves.
