By John Stenen When I was in Bible school forty-six years ago, two of my professors had attended two different seminaries for several years and claimed that they primarily were taught how to complicate the Bible. Fortunately, they got back on the straight and narrow path and got their heads screwed on straight where the Bible is concerned and were great teachers. The same problem was happening in the Church at Corinth which Paul had founded. If anyone knew the Bible, it was Paul; he tells us in Galatians 1:10-12 that the gospel was given to him by Jesus Christ Himself. False teachers had come to Corinth and started bringing in false doctrine, deceiving them from the simplicity of the gospel. Soon, these false teachers were presenting another Jesus, a different Holy Spirit, and a different gospel. Paul also warned us in Acts 20:26-32 that false teachers would arise even among the Christians. What I am trying to get across to you is this: Get into your Bible, read it, study it thoroughly, and pray over it. We cannot be deceived if we rely on the Holy Spirit to teach us,- it is one of His jobs. God bless.

Melissa Kramer is returning to the classroom as a preschool teacher after spending the past two school years substitute teaching for Fulda Public School and MCC. Kramer became an educator because she loves working with children and wants to play an active role in educating our future generations.

Luverne native Madeleine “Madee” Schmuck is beginning her teaching career at MCC as the seventh- and eighth-grade math teacher. For Schmuck, teaching has always been a career she could see herself pursuing.

MCC SECOND GRADE WELCOMES MOLLY LARSON Molly Larson, a Ghent native and current Tracy resident, is joining MCC as a second-grade teacher after spending the past eight years teaching third grade at Lac qui Parle Valley. Larson attended Minneota High School and Southwest Minnesota State University, where she studied early childhood education and early childhood special education.

Krista Keller, a Slayton area native and 1998 MCC graduate, will join the staff as the seventh- and eighth-grade English, junior high current events, communications and writing applications teacher. Keller earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and K-8 language and communications from the University of Minnesota Morris in 2002.

Sherri Burke is new to the Fulda School District as the district-wide speech-language pathologist. “I will be assessing and providing speech-language services for qualifying students birth-21,” Burke stated.

Alli Getting, Fulda, has joined the teaching staff at Fulda Elementary School for the 20262027 year. She will be teaching 5th and 6th grade English Language Arts.

On July 19, 2026, US Army Vietnam War Veteran, Robert “Bob” Ferguson, of Slayton, was presented with a Quilt of Valor at his home. The quilt was given in honor, appreciation and thanks for his service; and to bring comfort, peace and healing. Currie Legion member, Denny Johnson, welcomed family and friends and spoke about Bob’s military service. Kerry Cassens of Patriotic Piecers QOV group, spoke about Quilts of Valor and awarded Bob his quilt.
