An example of an ordinance for electric-assisted bicycles, motorized bicycles, and motorized foot scooters was reviewed by the Fulda City Council during their September 1, 2026 meeting. (The date had been changed due to Labor Day.)

Although several design options have been discussed for a fire hall renovation, the Slayton City Council on Tuesday decided to meet with the full fire department and get their input. The different designs all have strong points, but according to Slayton City Administrator Josh Malchow, the biggest question – other than cost – is whether an addition to the hall is meant to house people or apparatus.

The MCC Volleyball team played their second game of the season this past Thursday night. The Rebels were on the road to Cottonwood to take on the Lakeview Lakers who were playing their third game of the season with one win and one loss to open the season. The one loss was to the RTR Knights one of the state ranked teams in the area this season. The Rebels were coming off a 3-1 loss at Canby on Tuesday night and were hoping to turn it around on Thursday.

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources advises boaters to take extra care at public water access sites throughout Minnesota, where ongoing drought conditions continue to cause low water levels. Nearly all of the state is experiencing some level of drought, with conditions ranging from moderate to extreme drought and 48% of Minnesota in severe drought, according to the DNR’s drought in Minnesota webpage (https:// www.dnr.state.mn.us/climate/ drought/index.html).

The Murray County Central Rebel football teams stepped on the field at the MCC Sports Complex last Friday to open the 2026 season. The Rebels played host to the Dawson Boyd Blackjacks a team that beat them a year ago 7-0 to open the season. The Rebels are coming off one of their best seasons in school history that saw them get to the State Football Semi-Finals for the second time in school history. People forget they opened the season with two straight losses. The new look Rebels were hoping to surprise the Blackjacks who are a senior loaded team this year. The Rebels did some positive things in game one but they would not spring the upset.
