A.C.E. of Southwest Minnesota, a leading provider of volunteer opportunities, Caregiver services, and wellness programs, is pleased to announce the upcoming offering of the Powerful Tools for Caregivers class. This comprehensive educational program is designed to support individuals who are caring for aging parents, spouses, or other loved ones.

QUILTS OF VALOR PRESENTED TO TWO LOCAL MEN

Two local veterans were recently presented with Quilts of Valor, given in honor, appreciation and thanks for their service; and to bring them comfort, peace and healing. The quilts were presented to Chuck Lursen, Fulda, MN, and Wayne Carter, Currie, MN, by Kerry Cassens, Paula Domena, and Jill Defries of the Patriotic Piecers QCV group of Pipestone.

LOUWAGIE TO STEP DOWN AS UNITED WAY CEO

United Way of Southwest Minnesota (UWSWMN) announces that CEO Meg Louwagie will be stepping down from her role effective April 30, 2026, as she transitions into a new position as Senior District Outreach Representative for Congresswoman Michelle Fischbach.

TWO WARRIOR TRAINING ACADEMY STUDENTS RECEIVE BLACK BELTS

By Norma Dittman April 3rd, 2026 was a day of testing techniques, showing skills learned and receiving their Black Belts for Brynlee Farris and Cullen VanderBeek. Farris and VandenBeek are students of Warrior Training Academy in Fulda, They are also both freshman at Fulda High School.

FIRE DESTROYS HAROLD’S SERVICE

Last year, Harold’s Service turned 60 years old. But it is facing an uncertain future after a fire on Saturday, May 18 that totaled the building on Slayton’s Broadway Avenue.
