On Thursday, September 17th, 2026, Nancy Earhart Burt, Hastings, MN, will present a program on the life of Amelia Earhart at Fulda City Hall, 7 p.m. A two-part presentation, during the first half, “Amelia” arrives dressed in costume.

The Murray County Commissioners adopted a resolution on September 1 that opposes the proposed 765 kV PowerOn Midwest transmission project Certificate of Need application, which is currently under review by the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission (MPUC).

Local Channel SeedPro Jared Arens recently directed a $2,500 Channeling Good donation to Murray County 4-H. Murray County 4-H will use the money to fund different youth programming throughout the year.

The Murray County Central Volleyball team opened their season on Tuesday September 1 with a road trip to Canby. The Rebels and the Lancers have squared off in the non-conference portion of the schedule for years but on Tuesday the Rebels were looking to pick up their first win over the Lancers in years. With the Lancers losing several key players from a great squad over the last handful of years, they have a very different looking lineup. The Rebels young up and comers are now upperclassmen looking to take the next steps.

I am writing to share some important information regarding the proposed Constitutional Amendment related to Minnesota’s Permanent School Fund that will appear before voters on the general election ballot.

Many do not want to hear this, but it is true according to the Gospel of John, in chapter 15: that Jesus is the True Vine and believers are the branches. Jesus says there are two types of believers; those who produce fruit and those who produce no fruit. Both will get pruned by God the Father. One, (those who bear fruit) will be pruned so that they produce more fruit; the other (who bear no fruit) will be cut off and are only good to be gathered into bundles and be burned. These are those who profess to be Christians but do not abide in Christ. To abide in Christ means to pursue Him, follow Him, Love Him and obey His commands. They apparently are ‘Christians’ in name only. They are not into reading the Word of God, studying the Scriptures, renewing their minds, sharing their faith with the lost, and developing a relationship with Christ. The Fruit Jesus is speaking of involves the Fruit of the Spirit, (Gal. 5:22-23) and means we are growing in the grace and knowledge of Jesus and becoming more and more like Him. God bless.
