The Slayton Area Chamber of Commerce announced this week that it will be closing its physical office location as of December 31, 2025. While the office space will close, Chamber leaders emphasize that the organization remains active, strong, and fully committed to serving local businesses and the Slayton community.

By Joanne Bergman During the Murray County Commissioner meeting November 25, the commissioners revisited the purchase of 20 new kitchen ranges for the Sunrise Terrace apartments. The current units are original to the opening of the facility and are in need of repair.

The City of Slayton filed a petition with the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission requesting that the Commission determine the price for the City to purchase the electric utility infrastructure of Xcel Energy within the City. The matter was referred for a contested case hearing before Administrative Law Judge Christa L. Moseng.

As temperatures fall and ice begins forming on ponds, small lakes, and other waterways across the state, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources reminds parents and guardians to talk with their kids about the importance of safety on the ice and around the water.
