REBEL BOYS BEAT HLOF ON THE ROAD

Two high scoring ball games were followed up by a defensive battle as the MCC Rebels traveled to Okabena to take on the HLOF Coyotes Friday night. The C-squad would get off to a fast start as stifling defense and a balanced attack on offense would push the Rebels out to a 34-14 first half lead.

The SWWC Service Cooperative’s Regional Spelling Bee was held on Tuesday, February 1 at the Redwood Area Community Center in Redwood Falls. Twentysix students from 21 school districts across Southwest Minnesota competed at the regional contest. Remy Johnson, a 7th grader at Murray County Central, represented MCC. Johnson easily spelled his way out of the written and oral round advancing to the top 15 and eventually finishing 8th overall. Congratulations!

WARRIOR WRESTLERS DEFEAT WABASSO IN HEAVYWEIGHT MATCH

The Fulda/Murray County Central Warriors hosted the KMS Saints and the Wabasso Rabbits Friday February 4th. The Kerkhoven/Murdock/Sundberg Saints are a powerhouse of wrestling in west central Minnesota and always have excellent teams. The last time the Warriors had a dual against KMS the score was 72-0, but on Friday it was a different story as the Warriors held their own and closed the gap with a final score of 29-45.

REBEL BOYS CELEBRATE WINS OVER HBC

MCC and HBC have had tight, contested ball games already this season at all three levels, Saturday night would prove to be the same as both teams looked to end the week with a win. The C-squad would get off to a bit of a slow start, as both teams were playing pretty even basketball.

REBEL GIRLS FALL TO RTR AT HOME

The MCC Rebels hosted the RTR Knights this past Friday night. The Rebels were facing one of the most exciting young teams in the area. RTR has just one senior on their roster and they play a fast-paced exciting style including full-court pressure all game long. The Knights never slow down on defense and they work to get east shots on offense. This is a team that is perfectly suited to beat up on the Rebels and though they did beat the Rebels MCC would have some positives.

WARRIORS PERFORM WELL ON THE MAT

Our FMCC Warriors made the trip to Tracy Minnesota for a multi team event in which they would compete in four duals against Luverne, Springfield, Red Rock Central, and Tracy-Milroy-Balaton, of which the Warriors would go on and take 3 of the four duals.
