MURRAY COUNTY CHRISTMAS PROJECT

The Murray County Christmas Project is again planning to provide toys and gifts to over 300 eligible children in Murray County. We are accepting donations of toys and gifts for children 0 through 11 years of age. We also need stocking caps and mittens. Monetary gifts are also accepted to help with the purchase of gift items.

GREEN THUMB

This will be another Thanksgiving column. When we get together for Thanksgiving we might remember the first pilgrims and their first full year in the New World. It had been a hard year but a very good one. A celebration of thanks was decided on. The crops had done well. The Indians had been friendly and helpful to the new settlers.

First National Bank of Slayton

First National Bank of Slayton annually gives a $500 CD to the 1st grade class and when they are seniors, presents them a check with accrued interest. MCC SCHOOL BOARD FINDS SNOW REMOVAL SOLUTION

Murray County Central School Board met on Monday, November 8th. The Board was provided an update on the minutes from the previous month’s meeting, as well as the financials for the month. Superintendent Joe Meyer presented the Board with his personnel recommendations. They include: Suzanne Bau Knowledge Bowl – Head, Timothy Bobeldyk Boys Basketball – Junior High Coach, Timothy Cariveau Boys Basketball – Head Coach, Tyson Crosby Wrestling – Assistant Varsity, Davina Ethridge Knowledge Bowl – Junior High, Lucas Freeman Girls Basketball – Head Coach, Patrick Freeman Mock Trial Advisor, Isaac Harms One Act Play Director, Christina Walker Speech Director, Nathan Wieneke Boys Basketball – Junior High Coach, Tammy Aanenson Assistant Speech Director, Paul Counter Boys Basketball – Assistant Varsity Coach, Chad Larson Girls Basketball – Junior High Coach, Joan Miller Girls Basketball – Junior High Coach. The Board approved these and also hired Jeffrey Powers Girls Basketball – Assistant Varsity Coach and approved April Burch Paraeducators resignation. They next approved the senority lists for ECFE/LR Licensed Staff, Para Professionals and EA Licensed Staff.
