Teams met at the Slayton Pizza Ranch to wrap up the Relay For Life 2021. Those in attendance shared the positives and possible suggestions for next year’s relay. First, second and third place plaques were present to the Currie, Schaap and Fulda teams. Honorary Chairs Karmel and Kraig thanked the Committee and teams for their hard work and for allowing them to share their stories.

The Murray County Medical Center Hospital Board met on August 25, 2021. There were no conflicts of interest. The agenda and minutes from the previous meeting were approved. Next, Dr. Snow gave a report on the medical staff meeting. There is one doctor that is being seriously considered to start as a locum and after 6 months, if he/she is a good fit for us would be moved to permanent. They will have to be credentialed first, which will take several months. Dr. Snow also presented the appointment and reappointment changes. All were approved.

The Early Church with both Jew and Gentile believers were having a great time as multitudes were getting saved, healed and delivered. For example, read Acts 8:5-12. There was great joy in the Church and the men and women who had become believers were being baptized in water.

Minnesota 4-Hers from 87 counties arrived with over 2,272 animals at the 2021 “Great Minnesota Get-Together” for this year’s 4-H livestock encampment held Wednesday, August 25th to Sunday August 29th. The number of livestock exhibits over the weekend included:

Monday, Sept. 6: Closed for Labor Day.

This week-end will include Labor Day. In years past this writer has tried to attend the festivities at Tracy including the parade on Labor Day.

In 2020 the League of Women Voters (LWV) celebrated its 100th anniversary and joined more than 700 other local and state chapters to celebrate this historic milestone. From September 1-30 the Murray County Historical Museum is hosting a traveling exhibit about the history of the LWV and the impact it has had on the state.
