Evan Thraen and Darren Engelkes recently teamed up to start a new area business that they named No Limits Dirtworks.

The pair became friends while in high school at Murray County Central and continued to stay friends after graduating a year apart. After high school, Engelkes pursued a degree in Power Line Construction and Maintenance from Mitchell Technical Institute. Thraen’s post-high school path led him to welding and side jobs here and there.

Over the years, the two found they had a similar desire to be busy. They talked about starting a business together for a long time and eventually settled on a business devoted to dirt work.

“We both have a drive for it,” said Thraen. “It caught our eye, and we went for it.”

Engelkes added, “We’re aways pushing to do something and always tend to be busy.”

While they both currently have other jobs in addition to No Limits Dirtworks, they eventually want to grow their business and focus mainly on this adventure.

“There’s a lot of competition with other dirt work businesses, but we’re looking to start small and go from there,” said Thraen. “We’re different because we’re looking to do more skid loader work.”

With similar upbringings with operating skid loaders at a young age and their work experience, the duo is excited to offer commercial and residential services. Services include full-service dirt work, yard grading, rough grading, grove cleaning and removal, grass seeding, erosion control, yard repair and brush mowing and removal, land clearing and culvert replacement. They also offer driveway maintenance, material spreading, small demolition, sidewalk removal, fence line removal or installation and landscaping.

“There’s a lot of opportunity right now with new builds,” said Engelkes. “We’re open to anything you can dream of really and we hope to have projectbased growth.”

Nestled between Chandler and Iona, the business is willing to service commercial or residential properties within a 90-mile radius.

“We are looking to do anything that anyone wants done,” said Engelkes. “We’ll get it accomplished.”
