By: Kathy Schwartz, Murray County Master Gardener When using a pruning saw, an undercut is made first on the underside of the limb. This will prevent splitting and tearing under the weight of the limb when you finish sawing the top down. You will have a nice, clean cut.
Divide spring and summer blooming perennials in the fall. It is easy to locate the plants that need division. Time it four to six weeks before the ground freezes so the roots can become established. The best time to seed your lawn is early August to late September. Mid November is also a choice.
