The monies are to be used for the expansion of the system in Murray County in the Lake Sarah-Lake Shetek area with an expected 350-400 households connected when completed in 2026. Additional money will come from USDA, the State of Minnesota and the City of Avoca. The final cost will be $16M. Payment of the bonds will come revenue generated from the sale of potable water.
