Slayton Area Chamber of Commerce Light Up Gullord Park Event

The Slayton Area Chamber of Commerce announced this week that it will be closing its physical office location as of December 31, 2025. While the office space will close, Chamber leaders emphasize that the organization remains active, strong, and fully committed to serving local businesses and the Slayton community.

By Joanne Bergman During the Murray County Commissioner meeting November 25, the commissioners revisited the purchase of 20 new kitchen ranges for the Sunrise Terrace apartments. The current units are original to the opening of the facility and are in need of repair.

PARENTS, GUARDIANS URGED TO PRIORITIZE KIDS’ SAFETY AROUND COLD WATER

As temperatures fall and ice begins forming on ponds, small lakes, and other waterways across the state, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources reminds parents and guardians to talk with their kids about the importance of safety on the ice and around the water. It’s especially important with many children at home over Thanksgiving break.

COURT QUEEN OF PEACE

Court Queen of Peace gathered at Divine Mercy Hall on Nov. 19 at 5 PM beginning with prayer and flag pledge. Regent Konkol called the meeting to order with no secretary report due to secretary’s illness. Treasurer, Betty Palmer gave her report congratulating the Currie members for the excellent income from Gummi Bear collection. Barb Minnehan thanked the community for the 265 items received to support the Dudley House. Suggestion was made to keep our support local. It was consensus of the group to support Murray County Christmas Project next year. Items will be collected throughout the year and delivered at Christmas time. Jan Bryan legislative chair, spoke about sports gambling and the crisis in housing especially the shortage in starter homes.
