YOUTH EXPLORATION INTO EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT

Did you know that emergency managers are needed at city, county, state, and federal levels as well as private companies? Programs are available to assist with the education required in order to encourage placements.

Murray County 4-H and Murray County Emergency Management are teaming up to give youth in grades 7-12 an opportunity to explore the growing demand for emergency managers. The class will be held on Saturday, January 22, 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the Murray County 4-H Building on the fairgrounds in Slayton. Free snacks, beverages and pizza will be served.

Youth will get an overview of emergency management from area professionals which will include weather related situations, drone and search and rescue, risk management/reduction, civil unrest, pandemics, and career paths within emergency management.
