The Rebels traveled to Mountain Lake on Friday to play in a triangular against MLA and HLO/F-WWG. Although it was a windy, cold day the course was in pristine condition for this time of year. This was a great opportunity for MCC to see the competition they will be facing once conference play begins.
For the boys, McKade Gillette had a strong performance with two pars and a birdie. He finished tied for 3rd place with a score of 47. The boys need to improve their short game, placing approach shots closer to the pin. This will in turn eliminate the number of putts taken on the green. Ava Johnson led the girls for
Ava Johnson led the girls for MCC with a 53, and finished in 2nd place individually. Johnson stated she is feeling much more confident in her game this year.
MCC’s main battle to overcome this season is their mental game. The Rebels need to let go of bad shots, and move forward with confidence in their abilities.
The Rebels will start conference play in Westbrook (girls) and Fulda (boys) on Thursday, April 28th.
