ALVIN HEINTZ

Alvin Robert Heintz, the son of Herbert and Lillian (Dierks) Heintz, was born on November 28, 1929, in Graham Lakes Twp, Nobles Co., MN. He grew up in the Kinbrae area and attended St. Paul’s Lutheran School. During his freshman year he dropped out to run the family farm. Alvin served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955 and served in Korea and Guam and attained the rank of Corporal. Alvin was united in marriage to the love of his life, Arlene Englert on February 2, 1958, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Rich Valley, MN. After their marriage they made their home on a farm near Dundee, MN until they moved to their own family farm west of Fulda in January of 1968. Together they built a wonderful life, blessed with 5 children and blessed to celebrate 68 years of marriage. In February 1994 they moved into Fulda and in November 2024 they moved to Maple View Estates in Fulda. Alvin entered the Maple Lawn Nursing Home in November of 2025 and passed away there on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at the age of 96. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and served as an Elder and on the school board. Alvin also served on the Bondin Township Board and as an election judge for the City of Fulda. He enjoyed collecting toy and antique tractors and creating items for use around the house and farm. Alvin’s faith and devotion to church were evident in his life as he brought his family to worship, led devotions at home and taught his children to know and love Jesus.

JOYCE KANTEN

Joyce Lutmer Kanten died at Worthington Regional Hospital on May 24, 2026 at the age of 69. She was born the 4th of 13 children of Melvin and Darleen (Knips) Lutmer on June 2, 1956. After graduating from Adrian High School in 1974, she worked at Campbell’s Soup Company in Worthington for an extended time. She later worked for the Fulda School District, the Veterinary Medical Center Lab, and Casey’s in Worthington. Joyce married Dave Kanten on December 21, 1979 and together they raised their son, Brian. They made their early home in Worthington and for the last 28 years on an acreage south of Fulda. Joyce and Dave are heavily involved with the IH Collectors Club Chapter #15 of Minnesota. Joyce was often seen setting up and working the booth for shows and even had their house painted with IH colors.

MARVIN DUANE WERNER

Marvin Duane Werner was born on June 16, 1949, to Ralph and Orpha Werner in Granite Falls, MN. Marv’s journey came to a close on May 19, 2026, in Foley, AL.

SHARON SNELLING

A Celebration of Life Service for Sharon Snelling, age 84, of Windom, will be held at the LaCanne Family Celebration of Life Center in Windom, on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at 11:00 am, with a time of visitation for two hours prior to the service from 9:00 – 11:00 AM.

CHARLES “CHUCK” LURSEN

Charles Henry Lursen, the son of Oltman and Esther (Beek) Lursen, was born on October 5, 1937, in Worthington, MN. He grew up in Worthington and attended school. Chuck entered the U.S. Air Force in 1954 and served in England, France, Germany, Thailand, Vietnam and several U.S. bases. He retired from the Air Force in 1977. Chuck was united in marriage to Georgia Gerber on October 28, 1978, in Fulda, MN. Together they lived in Jacksonville, FL, San Antonio, TX and Owatonna, MN before moving to Fulda. Chuck passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at the Windom Area Hospital at the age of 88. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW and GAR, the Fulda Heritage Society and the Iron Horse Motorcycle Club. Chuck also served on the Fulda City Council, Prairie Hill Cemetery Board and as a Civil War Cannoneer. Chuck enjoyed riding his motorcycle, writing short stories, fishing, visiting with friends and spending time with his dogs.

RONDO HOLCK

Rondo Holck, age 98, of Ruthton, Minnesota died Wednesday May 13, 2026, at his home in Ruthton, Minnesota. Rondo’s Memorial graveside service will be held in conjunction with his son-in-law, Dale Swanson’s graveside service at the Peace Lutheran Cemetery in Ruthton, Minnesota on Friday, May 29 at 2:00PM.

DALE SWANSON

Dale Swanson, age 68, of Tyler, Minnesota died Saturday October 25, 2025, at Avera McKennen Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Dale’s Memorial graveside service will be held in conjunction with his father-in-law, Rondo Holck’s graveside service at the Peace Lutheran Cemetery in Ruthton, Minnesota on Friday, May 29 at 2:00PM.

MARVIN VAN’T HOF

Marvin Tony Van’t Hof was born to Tony and Maggie (Van Eck) Van’t Hof on September 23, 1937. Marv was baptized and made profession of faith at the Chandler Reformed Church. He grew up near Chandler, Minnesota, sharing daily chores with his parents. He milked cows, pitched and hauled manure, and fixed fences. He had many memories of digging graves with his dad at the Chandler cemetery.

JOHN RIEMER JANS

John Riemer Jans was born October 18, 1932, to William and Edna (Schuknecht) Jans in Dundee, MN. John passed away peacefully on May 23, 2026, surrounded by his family at the Maple Lawn Nursing Home in Fulda at the age of 93. John attended country school for eight years and Fulda High School for one year. He got his GED while serving in the Korean War. He was drafted on May 19, 1953, and served two years in the army. He went to basic training at Fort Ord, California and went overseas to Korea for a year and returned to Fort Lewis in Washington. John returned to the farm and was united in marriage to Joyce Barrett on June 24, 1956, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Slayton, MN. They lived their life handin- hand and were blessed with almost 70 years of marriage.

LINDA ALICE OLSON

Linda Alice Olson, age 77, passed away on December 7, 2025, in Gilbert, Arizona. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2pm on Saturday May 23, 2026 at the Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home in Albert Lea, MN. A visitation will be held an hour prior to the Celebration of Life. Inurnment will take place on May 24, 2026, at Highland Home Cemetery in Hadley, Minnesota.
