MARILYN M. BIESEMEIER

Marilyn Mae (Munson) Biesemeier died at the age of 80 in St. Paul, Minnesota on November 29, 2022.

JAMES “JIM” A. BOSE

Jim Bose was born on November 23, 1949, in Slayton, Minnesota to Henry and Johanna Van Eck Bose. He grew up on the family farm north of Lake Wilson, MN and attended Lake Wilson High School. On February 8, 1969, he and Sylvia “Terri” Hale were married in Flandreau, SD.

GLADYS L. ARENDS

Gladys Arends was born September 16, 1939, in Hospers, Iowa to Louis and Tena Uittenbogaard Kroon. She grew up in Hospers and graduated from Hospers High School in 1956. On December 15, 1959, she and Robert “Bob” Arends were married at Hospers.

DELORES J. BAU

Delores Jean (Anderson) Bau, age 92, of Truman passed away peacefully Sunday, January, 29, 2023 at Truman Senior Living. Delores was born February 3, 1930 in Redfield, SD to Algert and Edna (Nelson) Anderson.

ROSEMARY E. HARTSON

Rosmary Ellen Hartson, age 87, of Ruthon, Minnesota went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, March 25, 2023 while residing at Avera Morningside Heights Care Center in Marshall, Minnesota.

CLARINE E. SCHAEFFER

Clarine E. Schaeffer passed away at the age of 93 on March 22, 2023, at the Maple Lawn Nursing Home in Fulda, Minnesota. Clarine was born to George W. and Elfreda (nee Anderson) Anderson on May 14, 1929, while the family resided on a farm in Des Moines River Township, Murray County, Minnesota. She attended the rural District 67 School through eighth grade and graduated from high school in Westbrook, Minnesota, in 1947. She then completed two winter quarters at the School of Agriculture at the University of Minnesota in St. Paul.

LEE S. PETERSON

Lee S. Peterson age 82 of Westbrook passed away Friday, March 24, 2023 at Sanford Westbrook Hospital.

CORNELIUS “CASE” R. VOS

Case Vos, the son of Jacob “Jake” and Lillian (Lindsay) Vos, was born on July 26. 1925 in Moulton Twp., Murray Co., MN. He grew up on the family farm in Mason Twp, and attended country school. Case served in the U.S. Army Air Corp from September of 1945 until his Honorable Discharge in December of 1946. He returned to the farm and was united in marriage to Lona Gehlsen on November 3, 1950 at the Iona Presbyterian Church. After their marriage they started farming north of the family farm and in 1960 they moved to a farm in Lowville Twp. They retired from farming in 1988 and in 1991 they moved into Slayton. He remained at home after Lona’s death in May of 2003. Case married Doris Reikow on May 4, 2006 and they made their home in Slayton. Doris died on March 4, 2023. Case passed away on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at the Our House Hospice Home of Murray County in Slayton, MN at the age of 97. He was a member of Lake Sarah Baptist Church and former member of the Iona Presbyterian Church where he had held many positions. Case also belonged to the Murray County Fair Board, Murray County Cattlemen, National Beef Council, Hadley Elevator Board, where he had been President, Slayton School Agriculture Advisory Committee. He was also a member of the Lake Wilson American Legion. He enjoyed welding, iron work, wood working, hunting and fishing and shoeing horses.

ELFRIEDE M. JOHNSON

Elfriede Johnson, age 87 of Slayton formerly of Tracy, passed away Saturday, March 11, 2023 at home surrounded by family. Elfriede Magdalena (Kaiser) Johnson was born June 9, 1935 to August and Maria (Ocks) Kaiser in Germany.

DORIS C. VOS

Doris Vos, the daughter of Archie and Anna (Wilcoxon) Dayton, was born on August 11, 1927 in Slayton, MN. She grew up on farms near Slayton and Garvin, MN and attended country school and graduated from Slayton High School in 1945. Doris was united in marriage to Les Engberg on at Lake Sarah Baptist Church rural Slayton. After their marriage they lived and farmed north of Slayton. They later moved to Minneapolis and in 1970 Les passed away. She continued to live in Minneapolis and married Bob Reikow. They moved to Slayton in 1976. Doris worked at Finley Engineering until her retirement in 2001. She remained at their home after Bob died in August of 2003. Doris was married to Case Vos on May 4, 2008 and together they made their home in Slayton. Doris passed away on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at the Our House Hospice Home of Murray County at the age of 95. She was a member of the Lake Sarah Baptist Church where she served on the Ladies Aid, Sunday School teacher and a youth worker. She enjoyed traveling, sewing, writing poetry and oil painting.
