It seems appropriate to write on Father’s Day 2026, to remember my father and his life with us. Jesus prayed “ our Father who is in heaven,” ; well, now I have two fathers there.
Dad left us on May 21st 2026 to join mom and Jesus. He was 96 years old. Dad was a steady man, someone anyone could count on, and he was generous as well. He practiced having a servant heart- which meant that when he was shown a need he tried to help fulfill it for countless others. Besides being a veteran of the Air Force, a successful banker for over 40 years, a home builder, and a funder of many organizations, his most important roll began when I was a little boy, when he became a Christian along with mom. In his life he tried to be more like Jesus and that had a huge impact on our family and many others. He is dearly missed. Dad is buried in Hendersonville NC with mom in the Oakdale Cemetery.
