Trionne “Terri” Loos was born December 23rd, 1942 to William and Tilda (Knutston) Noethe in Tracy, Minnesota. She attended elementary school in Garvin and graduated from Tracy High School on June 3rd, 1960. Terri and Russell Atwood were married on February 17th, 1961. They made their home in Slayton where they welcomed their three daughters, Kari, Peggy and Jodi. Terri and Russell later separated, but remained close friends until Russell’s passing in 2010. Later in life, Terri attended Worthington Community College to further her education in accounting. Terri was engaged to Michael “Mike” Flathers, but Mike passed away in 2005 prior to exchanging their wedding vows.
Throughout her life, Terri served as a cook, bookkeeper, manager of Riddles Jewelry and a personal care attendant, but most importantly as a mother. Terri was an avid reader, enjoyed playing cards and games and traveling cross-country, as well as abroad. She loved to collect recipes and make recipe books for all of her children and grandchildren. She was passionate about gardening and tended to her flower beds and vegetable garden every year. However, most cherished by Terri, was spending time with her family and friends. Terri had a heart of gold, was loving, kind and left a soft and gentle impression on all that she met. She was strong in her faith and remained compassionate to her Lord and Savior. After a short battle with cancer, her life here on this earth ended on September 27th, 2021.
Terri is lovingly remembered by her children Kari Highman, Peggy (William) Rachuy, and Jodi (Neil) Alderson; five grandchildren Brandon (Mary) Rachuy, Samantha (Jacob) Welch, Morgan (Trevor) Kracht, Carter and Chase Alderson; and two great grandchildren Harrison and Braxton Welch; brother James (Louise) Noethe and sister Julia (Melvin) Johnson and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Thomas (Barb) Noethe and Bennie (Ginny) Noethe and sisters Alice (Manley) Svendsen and Leona (Leslie) Simpson.
Visitation will be from 9:30 am - 10:30 am, followed by a memorial service on Saturday, October 16th, 2021 at the United Methodist Church in Slayton with Pastor Ethanie Schmidt officiating. Interment at Slayton Memorial Gardens.
