Robert Molitor age 66 of Rock Rapids, IA died Thursday, January 12, 2023, at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD.

Robert James Molitor was born December 30, 1956, in Slayton, Minnesota to William and Sally (Metz) Molitor. He grew up in Slayton and was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church where he was baptized and confirmed in his faith. He was active in 4H and FFA as a youth. He graduated from Slayton High School in 1975. He furthered his education and graduated from Pipestone Vocational School in 1977.

On June 16, 1979, he was united in marriage to Carol Leuthold. Together they were blessed with adopting four children, Tim, Laura, Madison, and Greg. They also opened there home to many foster children Bob and Carol later divorced.

He was united in marriage to Deborah Dandurand on April 10, 2013. Together they lived in Rock Rapids. They later divorced.

In the past, Bob worked for various carpenters before starting his own construction company. He found joy in completing projects from start to finish. Many homes in the area were built by Bob. Throughout the years Bob went on mission trips where he did construction work. He enjoyed bow hunting, golf, bowling, and had a soft spot for dogs. He was very quick to offer help to others in need.

He is survived by his children, Timothy Molitor of Washington, Laura (Brad) Schneider of Cedar Rapids, IA, Madison (Tristan) Wylie of Rock Rapids, IA, and Greg Molitor of Rock Rapids, IA; four grandchildren, Keyten, Naomi, and Braden Schneider, and Ava Wylie; brothers, Mike Molitor of Hadley, MN and Dale (Christyn) Vos of Slayton, MN; special friend, Heather Dixon; and many extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, William (who passed when Bob was two years old); parents, Frank and Sally Vos; and infant sister, Joan.

A memorial service was he;d at 1:30 pm on Tuesday, January 17 at Faith Baptist Church in Rock Rapids, IA, with Pastor Jeff Poppinga officiating.

A visitation was at 12:00 noon until the hour of service on Tuesday, January 17 at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred. Jurrens Funeral Home was in charge of services.
