RICHARD CARL TEIG

Richard Carl Teig was born to Ernest and Dorothy Zimmer Teig in Slayton, MN on October 10, 1954. After a short bout with cancer, he passed away on December 27, 2024 at Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. He lived most of his life in Slayton but did spend several periods of time in the Phoenix area.

Rick (or Kit, as he was fondly known to his friends) graduated from Slayton High School in 1972 and attended both Mankato State College and SMSU. He loved working with his hands and ultimately his life work was doing home repairs and building. Rick’s pride and joy was probably the work he did on the Breezy Barn in Tracy. Kit enjoyed spending time with friends at the lake, especially if it involved fishing or water skiing.

Rick was predeceased by his parents and brother Ron. He is survived by siblings Jerry, Barbara (Barmore), and Betty (Biegler) and nieces and Nephews.

Friends and family will miss Kit’s smile that always lit up the room, as well as his willingness to offer a helping hand to anyone in need. They will gather to give thanks for knowing him and celebrate his life at the Breezy Barn later in the spring.
