Pamela Friesen, age 68, passed away on Sunday, November 14, 2021 at Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Pam was born on October 13, 1953 in Marshall, Minnesota. She attended school in Marshall until the family moved to Lake Shetek. Pam graduated from Slayton High School in 1971. She attended college in Marshall and then began working for Minnesota Corn Processors until the company was sold. Pam then began her career with Murray County and Pipestone as a deputy assessor, later becoming the Nobles County assessor until her diagnosis of cancer in 2015.

Grateful to have shared Pam’s life with her are her partner, John Meyer, of Slayton, MN; her son, Scott Mahon, of Baudette, MN; her mother Bon Friesen, of Lake Shetek, MN; and her sister Cindy (Jimmy Buyesse) Friesen, of Marshall, MN. Pam also leaves behind her dog, Fran.

Pam was preceded in death by her father, Gil Friesen; her grandparents, Cleo and Elsie Ribordy; her grandparents on her father’s side; Peter Friesen; and her dog, Tootsie.

The family would like to extend thanks to the staff at Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, for the six years of care that she received, especially the last ten days.

A celebration of life will be held on December 12, 2021 at the Iona Community Center from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to PO Box 85, Slayton, MN 56172.
