LINDA ROE

Linda Roe, 66, was surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, when she passed away peacefully at Ava’s House after a courageous battle with cancer.

Linda was born on December 17, 1955, in Pipestone, MN to Edwin and Marjorie Reitsma. She attended grade school and high school in the Slayton Area and graduated in 1974. She later went on to complete a degree in accounting and business administration.

In 1974 Linda was united in marriage to Larry Heard. They had 2 children together, daughter Leslie Weidenbacher in 1977 and son Larry Heard in 1979. Larry and Linda divorced in 1988.

In 1997 Linda and Herb Roe were married. They enjoyed living and working in Sioux Falls area until their retirement in 2015. In their retirement they had the amazing opportunity and adventure of building their own cabin in the woods of northern Minnesota. In 2021 they completed the cabin and were able to sell their Sioux Falls home and moved permanently to their home in Minnesota.

The greatest thrill of their lives was coming to know Jesus together. He has become the love of their lives. Everyday became a blessing whether it was a day of work, traveling or spending time with family and friends.

Linda is survived by her loving husband, Herb, son, Larry Heard (Shannon); son in law and daughter in law, Chad and Jen Weidenbacher and grandchildren Alex, Tanner, Sharyn, Aneesha, Adriane, Andrew and Anna; brother, David Reitsma (Patty); sister, Laurie Larson (Doug); aunt Bernice (Don) Bose, Daryl (Jennie) and aunt Charlotte Sudenga; and family cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; Brother in laws, Terry, Doug (Carol) and Steve Roe; Herb’s sons and grandchildren Taylor, Parker and Logan; Marla and many other cherished friends.

Funeral services took place at Heritage Funeral Home on Monday, January 24, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. with a luncheon and burial afterwards. Linda’s family was present for a time of visitation one hour prior to her funeral. Services by www.heritagesfsd.com.
