Leland Allen Lokker, better known by his nickname Kraut, was born November 5, 1952, and died June 6, 2023. Lee was born and raised in Slayton, MN, alongside his brother Donald. Lee was an outdoor enthusiast and nature conservationist who worked for the MN Department of Natural Resources for 36 years. He enjoyed trapping, hunting, and fishing with his animal and human companions.

He also enjoyed collecting and restoring vintage automobiles. Lee enjoyed riding motorcycles and had gone to Sturgis many times, once even in a sidecar with his parents and brother! He served two terms on the Slayton City Council and spent many years as a Board Member of the Murray County Historical Society.

Lee had a rich and fulfilling life surrounded by the love and companionship of his loyal dogs (Susie, Bear, Mike, Cricket, Spike, and Sadie) and a closeknit circle of friends (F-Troop) and family. He is survived by his brother Dale, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and their families, aunts, and cousins, along with his many good lifelong friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Leslie and Ella Lokker, and his brothers, Vernon and Donald. Lee’s memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

A Celebration of Life will be held at City Limits Bar & Grill, 3124 Juniper Ave, Slayton, MN, on Sunday, October 22nd, from 4-8 p.m. Please come to share your stories of Lee and have a bite to eat. Memorials may be made to the Murray County Historical Society (MCHS) in memory of Leland Lokker.
