Larry Joe Schindler, the son of Joe and Margaret (Deuschle) Schindler, was born on February 26, 1946, in Fulda MN. He grew up in Fulda and attended school graduating from the Fulda High School. Larry worked as a carpenter and built numerous houses over the years. Larry was united in marriage to Cleone Meyer-Hein on January 17, 1981, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Fulda. They made their home in Fulda. Larry remained in Fulda after Cleone died in January of 1995. In 2023 he moved to the Maple View Estates in Fulda. Larry passed away on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at the Maple Lawn Senior Center in Fulda at the age of 79. He had served on the Murray County Parks board and the Fulda Zoning Committee and the Murray County Pheasants Forever and Fulda Game and Fish Club. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, gardening and collecting guns.
Survivors include his children, Colleen (Al) Bestge of Fulda, MN, Randy (Unhui Gunderman) Hein of Brewster, MN and Pam (Calvin) Berger of Worthington, MN; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren with another coming soon and 2 great-great-grandchildren and one coming soon. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, 2 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services were held at St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church Fulda, MN, at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, with Fr. Peter Schuster officiating. The organist was Sherri Isder. The song leaderwas Sheila Crowley. Honorary pallbearers were Leroy Deuschle, Roger Deuschle, Tom Deuschle, Bonnie Grunewald, Gary Deuschle and Shirley Erlandson. Interment was at St. Gabriel’s Cemetery.
Visitation was held one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.
