Grace Emmagene Jensen, 86, of Westbrook, died on Tuesday, November 23, 2021, at the Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD.
Grace was born on December 25, 1934, to Harold and Evelyn (Olson) Vind in Wisconsin Township, Jackson, Minnesota. She was baptized into the Lutheran faith at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Jackson and later confirmed there. Grave received her education attending Country School District #1 and was a 1953 graduate of Jackson High School.
After graduation, she attended the Lutheran Bible Institute in Minneapolis, and in 1955 she moved with her parents to Westbrook.
On August 25, 1957, she married Bobbie Jensen at Trinity Lutheran Church in Westbrook. Following their marriage, they made their home in Rosehill Township near Westbrook, where they farmed together until 1975 when they retired. In 1976, they moved to the farm where her husband, Bobbie, was born and raised. Here is where he died on March 24, 1999. Grace then moved into Westbrook. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Westbrook.
Grace always appreciated rural living. As a young girl, she enjoyed working beside her father in the fields and doing chores together. She was also a helpmate to her husband as well. In her spare time, she enjoyed knitting, being with her grandchildren, volunteering at the Good Samaritan Center in Westbrook and also with Hospice of Murray County. Grace cleaned houses for the elderly for many years and she delivered Meals on Wheels and helped others as needed.
Grace is survived by her two daughters, Lindy Lou (Ken) Albrecht of Dundee and Patti Lynn Booze of Westbrook; seven grandchildren Monica (Clint) Struiksma, Nikki Albrecht, Bobbie (Amanda) Albrecht, Anthony Albrecht, Christopher Jensen, Stacey (Adam) Bottelberghe, Melissa (Matt) Bedner, Angel (BJ) Becker; numerous greatgrandchildren, niece Kathy Deibler, nephew Jason Vind, and other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Preceding her in death, were her parents Harold and Evelyn Vind, husband Bobbie Jensen, brother Carl Vind and sisters Carol Zurn and Marian (Dick) Saxton and son-in-law Patric Booze.
The funeral service took place at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, November 29, 2021, at Grace Lutheran Church in Westbrook. Visitation was one hour prior to the service, 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the church. Interment followed the service at the Westbrook Cemetery.
