EDWARD JOHN LEWIS JR.

Edward John Lewis Jr., the son of Edward and Clara (Roemen) Lewis Sr., was born on July 31, 1938, in Rock Valley, IA. He grew up in Rock Valley until moving to Rushmore, MN. He attended country school then went to school in Worthington. Ed was united in marriage to Shirley Thompson on November 19, 1960, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Worthington. After their marriage they lived in Adrian before moving to a farm south of Fulda. Ed worked at Fulda Coop Elevators in Fulda and Wirock. He also farmed until 1973. He later worked at the elevators in Iona and Dovray before retiring. He served on the Fulda volunteer Fire Department for 33 years. Ed passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at Our House Hospice Home in Slayton, MN at the age of 87. He was a member of St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church and was an usher, greeter. Ed enjoyed dancing, camping, playing cards and cutting the grass or just being outdoors.

Survivors include his 3 children, Terry (Laurie) Lewis of Fulda, MN, Karla (Peter) Hunsinger of Apple Valley, MN and Tim (Starla) Lewis of Le Sueur, MN; daughter-in-law, Diane Lewis of Amery, WI; 5 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren and 5 siblings. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, son, Troy Lewis and daughterin-law, Claudia Lewis.

Funeral services will be held at St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church Fulda, MN at 10:30 AM on Friday, March 13, 2026, with Fr. Peter Schuster celebrating. Interment at St. Gabriel’s Cemetery Fulda, MN.

Visitation will be Thursday from 4 to 6 PM at the St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church in Fulda and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. The Totzke Funeral Home in Fulda is assisting the family with arrangements. Send condolences online at www.totzkefuneralhome. com.
