GOOD NEWS

Jesus said, “Do not think that I come to bring peace on earth. I did not come to bring peace but a sword.” Matthew 10:34. A sword divides, it splits things apart. The gospel splits families apart. Many think Jesus came to bring universal peace, but He didn’t; -the message He preached separates family members and friends. Why? Because the gospel of Jesus Christ is truth; it’s reality. The gospel shows us what we are: lost sinners in need of a Savior. Too many love their sin, and refuse to humble themselves before God, (John 3:16-21). Therefore, they will not surrender their lives to Jesus, and follow Him all the days of their life. Johnny Cash made the song very popular: ‘Will the Circle be Unbroken?’ I wish it were true in every family, that when the time comes, that they would all be in heaven, but the truth is, many of them will not be there. There will come a day when there will be universal peace and righteousness, -but not until Jesus, the Prince of Peace returns to set up His Kingdom here on earth. I hope you will be there. God bless

MURRAY COUNTY OFFERS ADDITIONAL EDA FUNDING TO WONDER WORLD, DISCUSSES ADMINISTRATIVE/COORDINATOR POSITION

Wonder World Preschool got some positive news on Tuesday when the Murray County Commissioners voted to add another $100,000 to a forgivable loan for the childcare center’s new building fund. In October 2024, the Murray County EDA recommended a first $100,000, with that motion being amended Tuesday to remove a contingency that included a funding goal and a sunset date. In a November EDA meeting, the EDA approved the second $100,000. All of the funds will be forgivable over a 15-year period.

THEOLOGY IN THE TRENCHES

Remembering What We Forget Sometimes, we just forget. We forget a birthday, we forget an appointment, we forget to say a word of encouragement meant for another because between here and there so much has happened.

The Spirit of Giving

As December begins and we prepare for Christmas and New Years, we are often led to reflection on the spirit of giving. Beyond the myriad advertisements and commercial displays of the month and its holidays, giving to others can be both a simple and personal thing.
