The MN Employment and Economic Development Office of Broadband Development recently announced 26 grants for the FY 2025 Border to Border Broadband 2024 Grant Round 10. Woodstock Telephone Company was awarded the Skandia FITH Low Density Project. This was one of only eight Low Density Grants given. The project will cover a rural area east of Skandia in Murray County and is for a Fiber-To-The-Premises Network that would utilize existing Woodstock-owned middle-mile fiber and offer speeds up to 1G upload and 1G download. This project will serve residents and businesses at 190 unserved locations. State Grant awarded is $2,914,733. Local Match is $971,578. Total Eligible Project Cost is $3,886,311. Funding partner, Murray County is contributing $485, 789.
