August 24th wasn’t only a marvelous day because of the sunrays and breeze that welcomed many patrons to Key Largo on Shetek that Saturday. Carrie Van Dyke, owner of Key Largo, orchestrated and hosted Wonder World’s Fundraising Bash. Did you miss it? Let me tell you about it!
All received by donation, a endless buffet of pulled pork, hot dogs, beans, pasta salad, root beer floats, and MORE, was available for the cost of $30.00. There were also tables filled with a variety of silent auction items, once again ALL donated. We received over 35 items/baskets to auction off! These ranged from tickets to varies sporting events, homemaker goods, hair salon products, over night stays, and SO much more. Not only did our supporters get to enjoy a filling meal and enjoy some friendly competition bidding on baskets, the outdoor stage was occupied all afternoon with local musicians providing live entertainment, donating their time.
With this amazing event, Wonder World raised $14,000.00! That is phenomenal! Because of the astonishing success, Carrie has agreed to make this an annual event. We couldn’t have done this without the generosity of all the donors, I will list them below for acknowledgment.
