WINTER READING ARRIVES EARLY

Join the annual Winter Reading Program and let libraries spark your imagination. Winter Reading is open to adults and teens, ages 16 and older, who have a Plum Creek Library card. This year, Winter Reading starts early, and you can count the books you finish over the holidays. The program runs from December 22, 2025 through March 21, 2026.

You can register now at Fulda Memorial Library or Slayton Public Library. Both libraries are open Monday through Saturday. You can sign up in person, by phone, or by email. Contact information for each library is listed at the end. If you are new to the Winter Reading Program, here’s what to expect: 1) Get Your Reading Log - When you sign up, the librarians will ask if you have a Plum Creek Library card and if you are new to Winter Reading. You can pick up a reading log right away. Choose a numbered list, a punch card, or a bingo card to track your books.

2) Read - The goal is to finish 12 books during the 12 weeks of Winter Reading. All formats count, including books, e-books, audiobooks, and graphic novels. When you finish a book, mark it on your reading log.

3) Return Your Reading Log for Prizes - Bring your log back to the library where you signed up and choose a prize. Prizes include chocolates, mugs, and small seasonal items, while supplies last. Readers who finish 12 books will also receive one entry into the grand prize drawing at each library. Winners will be announced the week after Winter Reading ends.

From the winter solstice to the spring equinox, the library is a place to warm up your imagination. If you have questions, contact Fulda Memorial Library at 1-507-425-3277 or fuldalibrary@gmail. com, or Slayton Public Library at 1-507-836-8778 or slaytonlib@plumcreeklibrary.net.
