WE BELIEVE, TEACH, AND CONFESS...

It was a blessing to be in God’s House twice last weekend - Saturday for a wedding and Sunday for worship - opportunities to hear proclaimed the Gospel...what God has done for us through our Lord Jesus Christ in His life, suffering and death, resurrection, and ascension. Bride and groom braided together the Cord of Three Strands into a Unity Cross to symbolize the joining of one man, one woman, and God into the marriage with God in the center. In the Epistle from Ephesians 5, Jesus is bridegroom to His Church - the Church of all believers. Jesus is head of the Church, loves her, and gave Himself up for her so she will be found holy and without blemish on Judgment Day before Almighty God. At Matins, in the Gospel from Matthew 22 Jesus spoke in parables saying, “The Kingdom of Heaven may be compared to a King who gave a wedding feast for His Son.” Those who were invited would not come. The King was angry and sent His troops to destroy them and burn their city. The King then sent servants into the roads and gathered all whom they found - both bad and good - so the hall was filled with guests...Fulfilling verse 14 which reads, “For many are called, but few are chosen.” Adult Bible Class reminded there are a finite number of days until Jesus’ Second Coming marking judgment and, thus, Isaiah 55 in the Old Testament encourages “Seek the Lord while He may be found; call upon Him while He is near... Come, everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and he who has no money, come, buy and eat! Incline your ear, and come to Me; hear, that your soul may live.”
