MURRAY COUNTY 4-H HOSTS FEBRUARY AFTER SCHOOL ADVENTURES USING SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING, ART, AND MATH ACTIVITIES
Murray County 4-H hosted their monthly After School Adventures in both the Murray County Central and Fulda School Districts.
The Murray County session was held on Tuesday, February 11, in the Murray County 4-H Building and the Fulda session was held on Thursday, February 13, at the Fulda Elementary School. Each went from 3 – 5 p.m. Youth in grades K – 6 are welcome to attend these sessions. Each month, there is a different theme, most of which are revolved around STEM (science, technology, engineering and math), but have a unique twist to make learning enjoyable for all ages!
“This month, youth were given the challenge of landing a nerf rocket safely as well as creating a tool that can hit a small ball into a box, only using the mystery supplies they were given that afternoon. This really brought out the youth’s creative side as there were lots of different ideas being used. The kids liked they were able to express their thoughts to resolve this issue they were given. Murray County Central: March 11 – “Size vs. STEM” and April 1 – “Using STEAM to Grow” Fulda: March 13 – “Size vs. STEM” and April 3 – “Using STEAM to Grow” If your child is interested in attending these, they are $5 session and registration is still open!
