On Thursday September, 15th the Warriors competed at the annual Turkey Trot. It was a beautiful day for cross country racing. Not too warm with a slight breeze provided wonderful conditions for all the runners. The Warrior girls took first place with 65 points. They beat second place Pipestone by 2 points. Brylei Schreier once again led the Warriors to victory. Schreier placed fifth in 21:30. Sophia Nelson (21:54) was also in the top ten for the Warriors, in ninth place. Holland Vogel and Laiken Farris went 17 and 18th. Vogel ran 22:48 and Farris was not far behind, running 23:03. In 22nd was Lindsey Hause with a time of 23:38, 35 seconds behind Farris. Emma Risacher (25:59) had an impressive race placing 39th. Seven seconds later Ruth Ethridge crossed the finish line in 41st. The eighth runner for the Warriors in the girls varsity race was Lily Daniels placing 47th with a time of 26:50.
The Warrior boys also had leading the Warriors, running 16:43. Jon Olsem ran 17:41 in 12th. With a 14th place finish was Silas Stapek (17:45) and right behind Stapek, in 15th, was Caleb Appel crossing the line nine seconds later. Next up for the Warriors was the trio of Alex Betz, Caleb Ethridge, and Matthew Stapek. Betz (18:23) was in 22nd, Ethridge (18:29) was in 23rd and Stapek (18:32) was in 24th. Another two Warriors boys crossed the line two in row. Zach Kirchner (19:58) placed 38th and two seconds later was Wesley Hause in 39th. In 50th place was Alex Kueney with a time of 20:29. Other runners for the Warrior boys were Blaine Braun (21:34, 61st), Walker Biren (23:09, 74th), and Carter Knakmuhs (24:02, 82nd).
The junior high runners had a shortened 1,600 meter course. Mara Clarke was in fifth for the junior high girls crossing the line 8:01. The second junior high girl for the Warriors was Kaidyn Anderson with a time of 9:52 in 14th place. The junior high boys had great races, placing 1st as a team with 30 points. Aiden Appel (7:13), Parker Olsen (7:15), and Tyler Reith 7:15) led the boys going 5th, 6th and 7th, all finishing within two seconds of each other. Then, in 17th was Micah Janssen (8:07). William Biren (8:42) placing 24th. In 31st running 9:10 was Gary Plotz and Edwin Nepp (9:27) was in 33rd.
