WARRIORS COMPETE AT LQPV-DB INVITE

This past week the Warriors competed in 93 degree weather at the LQPV-DB Invite in Madison Minnesota. The Warriors battled the heat through their races but still managed to have a successful meet.

The girls team placed fourth with 90 points beating fifth place Pipestone with 114 points.

Leading the Warrior girls was Brylei Schreier (22:03) in 9th.

Twenty two seconds later Sophia Nelson crossed the finish line placing 11th. Next up was Laiken Farris running 23:02 finishing 16th. In 21st was Holland Vogel (23:14) with another impressive race as just an eighth grader. Lindsey Hause was in 35th running 24:48.

Placing 47th was Ruth Ethridge in 26:44. Then in 53rd for the Warrior girls was Emma Risacher with a time of 27:29. The girls Warriors had two runners in the JV race this meet. Lilly Daniels (26:14) was in 14th and Courtney Gengler (30:30) was in 43rd.

The Warrior boys placed 3rd with 80 points. Losing to second place Milkbank scoring 66 points but beating fourth place Canby Minneota scoring 89 (18:46) and Matthew Stapek (18:47) going 22nd and 23rd just one second apart. Caleb Ethridge was then in 40th running 20:06. The Warrior boys then had several runners in the JV race. Zach Kirchner (20:47) took 9th, Wesley Hause (20:58) was in 14th and Alex Kueney (21:59) placed 24th. Other runners in the boys JV race for the Warriors were Blaine Braun (22:50, 35th), Walker Biren (23:50, 44th) and Carter Knakmuhs (25:58) in 53rd.

Following the varsity races the Warriors competed in two successful 2700 meter junior high races. In the girls races Mara Clarke placed second running 11:55. Kaidyn Anderson was ran (15:27) placing 39th. The boys junior high team placed 1st with 21 points. Aiden Appel (10:50) and Parker Olsen (11:01) led the boys going 3rd and 4th. Then in seventh was Calaen Bertrand running 11:18. Tyler Reith was in 11th finishing in 11:39. William Biren (13:02) and Micah Janssen (13:09) finished seven seconds apart and placed 32nd and 33rd respectively. Then in 46th was Gary Plotz (15:09). And rounding out the boys junior high race was Edwin Nepp (15:58) in 50th place.

All of the Warriors fought hard through this meet against the heat and have a lot to be proud of. They will compete next on Tuesday, September 26th at the Slayton Golf Course. Go Warriors!
