By Allie Paulzine, Student Reporter On Tuesday October, 10th the Warriors competed at the Adrian Ellsworth Dragons Invitational in Adrain, Minnesota. Adrian’s golf course is known for its seemingly never ending, rolling hills throughout the course.
For the girls team, Brylei Schreier led the Warriors. She ran 21:29 to earn her fifth place finish. Then was seventh grader Mara Clarke in seventh, impressively finishing in 21:38 and Sophia Nelson was in eighth just one second behind Clarke. Laiken Farris was in 13th with a time of 22:20. Not far behind Farris was Holland Vogel in 19th running 23:02. Then finishing in 23:12 was Lindsey Hause placing 22nd. FInishing 35th and 36th were Lily Daniels (23:13) and Ruth Ethridge (23:17). Then was Emma Risacher (26:50) in 58th, Courtney Gengler (28:09) in 62nd, and Brealyn Damm (31:10) in 75th. The girls placed second with 48 points. They lost to Luverne who scored 42 points.
Next was the boys varsity race. They also placed second and scored 54 points, also losing to Luverne who scored 40 points. Placing fourth was Evan Bumgardner finishing in 17:12. Then the boys had four Warriors finish in a row. Jon Olsem (17:59.3) led the pack in 11th. Then was Alex Betz (17:59.7) in 12th, Silas Stapek (18:02, 13th) and brother Matthew Stapek in 14th finishing in 18:04. Caleb Ethridge ran 18:29 and finished 19th. Four places later was Caleb Appel (18:41). Wesley Hause (20:27) and Alex Kueney (20:32) finished in 39th and 40th. The final three runners for the boys were Blaine Braun (22:05, 60th), Walker Biren (22:25, 63rd), Carter Knakmuhs (23:45, 76th).
The junior high runners had a 1600 meter course to run. The girls didn’t have any runners in the junior high race this meet. The boys team placed 3rd with 66 points. Tyler Reith (5:52) in 3rd and Parker Olsen (5:54) in fourth led the boys team. Aiden Appel was 14th running 6:06. In 19th was Micah Janssen (6:21). William Biren (6:57) was 36th. Then was Gary Plotz (7:26) in 44th and Edwin Nepp (8:02) finishing 53rd.
The Warriors will compete next on Tuesday, September 16th in Mountain Lake at the Red Rock Conference Meet! Go Warriors!
