In non-conference action last week, the Rebels traveled to Pipestone to take on the Arrows in volleyball.
MCC jumped out to a decent lead in the first set, sustaining it to a 25-11 finish. The Rebels were able to string together runs of points seemingly at will and played three sets of well balanced volleyball.
In the second and third sets, Rebel setters were able to connect with hitters creating an exciting night for MCC fans, sweeping the Arrows, 25-11 and the final set, 25-12.
Emmi Peltola and Abby Loosbrock led the Rebels at the service line. Peltola was perfect, 17/17, 14 points – 3 aces, as was Loosbrock, 24/24, 20 points, 7 aces. Peltola had 9 Digs on the night, while Loosbrock contributed 3 ace blocks and had 5 Kills.
MCC combined for 14 ace serves, 22 Kills, 31 Digs, 5 Blocks. Kelli Miller led with 12 set assists, followed by Kate Slettum with 8 assists of her own.
