MCC hosted the Charges in volleyball action Tuesday night (October 11.) The Rebels started off on their heels in the first set, falling into a 4-9 score be-fore the coaches initiated their first time out. Unable to get anything going offensively the Rebels did what they could to keep the Charges from an allout run.

Determined to make a change, MCC chopped the visitors lead to three behind the serving of Elie Meyer while Casey Miller connected with Kate Slettum and Morgan Winter to get the Rebels back in the game. The battle for points continued to the end but the Rebels fell short, 22-25.

Game two seemed to find the Rebels out of steam as they fell behind, leaving a huge gap, committing too many errors. The Chargers maintained a ten point lead throughout set two and took that set handily, 11-25.

Set three was more reminiscent of the first set, starting out in the same fashion before the Rebels caught fire mid game. With Miller able to use Slettum and Loosbrock as weapons, the girls were able to tie the game at 16. From that point the game was back and forth and fans saw some good rallies between the two conference teams, but in the end, it was the visitors sweeping the home team, 22-25. Game Stats: Serving: Elie Meyer 18/20 – 13 points Kills: Kate Slettum 10; Abby Loosbrock 9 Digs: Jaelen Barstad 22 Blocks: Slettum 2 Set Assists: Settum 15; Casey Miller 14.
