The MCC Volleyball team was back at home on Thursday night playing host to the Mountain Lake Area Comfrey Wolverines. The Rebels lost to HLOF on Tuesday night ending a two game winning streak but they were looking to bounce back against the one win Wolverines who have struggled this season. The Rebels would take care of business in a strong all around victory.
The Rebels would play a really nice game on Thursday. Not always flashy but very consistent. The Rebels struggled on Tuesday keeping the ball in play until they got a great shot. Thursday the Rebels played with that scrappy attitude that would get them point making shots. The Rebels had a great deal of balance on offense with Suttyn Schyvers and Kat Miller. The Rebels would take game 1 25 to 16.
The Rebels would rotate everyone in games two and three as they would control play. The Rebels combined for 8 aces in the game and 9 different Rebels would get Kills as MCC would win game 2, 25 to 19 and then game 3, 25-17. The game would end on a Josie Spartz ace, her second ace of the game. The Rebels picked up their first Red Rock Conference victory of the season moving their record to 3-2.
Suttyn Schryvers led the Rebels with 9 kills in the game. Kat Miller had a solid game with 6. Ava Deacon led the Rebels with 33 digs. Avery Thovson and Addie Dierks led the Rebels with 8 assists each. The Rebels would get one day for practice on Friday before travelling to Jackson for a tournament on Saturday. The tournament on Saturday would be their first in-season tournament of the season.
